On the evening of Aug. 12-13, the annual Perseid meteor shower will peak in the skies over Earth. Unfortunately the Supermoon this month will wash out the less bright meteors. The supermoon is due to peak on August 10th. Even with that Perseid should still put on a good show. The projected peak rates will be 30-40 meteors per hour. Most of the world can see the Perseids any time after full dark, with peak viewing in the two hours before dawn (your local time).
