Many Sunspots, Solar activity could increase

Active Sunspots 11/16/13

There are 10 sunspots in the view of Earth right now. This is the most we have seen in some time and could be an indicator of near term solar activity.  As you can see in the image above the sun is looking quite busy with some very large spots and spots that have spread out. NOAA currently is predicting only minor space weather but you would not know that by the look of the sun today.

In particular sunspot AR1897 has more than 10 magnetic islands spanning over 350,000 km. Directly facing Earth this sunspot has a beta-gamma-delta magnetic field that indicates the possibility of X-class solar flares,
