On Thanksgiving SpaceX attempted the launch of an SES-8 telecommunications satellite aboard a Falcon 9. The launch was already postponed during the this launch window once earlier in the week when they “Saw pressure fluctuations on Falcon boost stage liquid oxygen tank,” according to SpaceX CEO and founder Elon Musk.
On this second attempt the engines actually lit and started to build thrust but then automatically shutdown after about a second. Musk later tweeted “Launch aborted by auto sequence due to slower than expected thrust ramp.”. The next attempt could be in the next few days.
