Comet PANSTARRS Video as it passes Earth…Amazing.

Comet PANSTARRS, with Earth flying through space (stationary dot center+right), deep space stars background, and solar particles emanating from the left. This GIF was made from 72 NASA STEREO Behind Satellite images, converted to black and white. The comet is interesting but so is the fact that we can see our own planet as it travels through space.

Comet Pan-Starrs was view-able with only a set of binoculars in March if this year. The slightly hyperbolic orbit of PanSTARRS showed it is a new comet from the outer Oort Cloud.
