This Video shows the view from the Soyuz capsule as it approaches and docks with the International Space Station (ISS). It is interesting to watch as the cross hairs move due to the in flight thruster adjustments keeping it in line with the capture mechanism.
The Soyuz TMA-08M spacecraft carrying three new Expedition 35 crew members docks with the International Space Station at 10:28 p.m. EDT Thursday, completing it’s accelerated journey to the orbiting complex in less than six hours. This was the fastest launch to docking in the history of the program, taking just 6 hours to deliver the new astronauts. Instead of taking the standard two days to rendezvous and dock with the station, Cassidy, Vinogradov and Misurkin became the first crew to make the trip in just six hours. Only four orbits of Earth were needed to reach the orbiting laboratory. The flight will used rendezvous techniques perfected recently with three unpiloted Russian Progress resupply vehicles.
Cassidy, Vinogradov and Misurkin will join Expedition 35 Commander Chris Hadfield of the Canadian Space Agency, Tom Marshburn of NASA and Roman Romanenko of Roscosmos. They have been aboard the complex since December
