Two Large CMEs headed for Mercury

CME on 4/24/13 headed in direction of Mercury

On April 24-25 2013,  two coronal mass ejections (CMEs) erupted from the sun. Moving at about 500 miles per second these solar phenomena,  capable of ejecting billions of tons of matter into space, are headed in the direction of  Mercury. These kinds of events can effect satellites and while these two are not headed towards Earth they may effect the STEREO-A satellites.
